Nordvision is the name for the co-operation between the seven Public Service Broadcasting companies, DR, NRK, RUV, SVT, SR, UR, YLE. In order to meet challenges on the European level, the companies together monitor different EU policies e.g. media, culture, copyright, telecom and state aid. The office is now looking for an intern for spring 2020.
As a public affairs intern at the Nordvision office in Brussels, you will be supporting the daily activities with independent responsibility. Being a small office, you will be involved in all parts of work, as well as have your own responsibilities and meetings. This year, we are specifically looking for someone who can support our internal and external communication strategies.
Assignments will also include formulating working paper and memos; preparing and assisting the office in managing meetings, visits, conferences and events. Moreover, you will follow the political process in the European institutions closely on issues with relevance for media and digital.
The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable, hands on public affairs experience in an EU environment.
WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for an ambitious person with a significant interest in media, digital and European affairs. You are likely in your final year of studies, or recently graduated.
Your role will be a cornerstone in a small team and we highly value problem solving skills, own initiatives and a doer attitude.
You will be working in a European/international office setting with daily interaction with the Nordic companies. Therefore, important that you enjoy a fast-paced working environment where discussions and compromises are part of everyday decisions.
We are looking forward to seeing you take an active role in meetings and value excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Of outmost importance is to be well organized, have an ability to multitask and meet deadlines, and at the same time work independently and replace other staff members in the office when needed.
Relevant Education (final year or finalized) in the field of politics, economics, communication, journalism or related field.
Fluency in English and in one of the Scandinavian languages will be required. French is considered a great asset.

Areas of work will include:
Media and Communication/Public affairs; EU public affairs and policy-making/ Stakeholder relations; international coordination; build and maintain professional networks/ Internal and external communication, coordination between cooperating companies/ Meeting preparations; drafting of protocols, summaries. Etc.
The intern will be assigned with one direct supervisor; Director of Brussels office. In addition, the position will be allocated a Mentor for general advice during the assignment. This person will be from one of the cooperating companies.
The internship includes a monthly renumeration and a full insurance coverage. Appointment period: February 2020-July 2020.
